Explore Colourful Bali

Take part in the colourful and visual culture of Bali. Take part in the exciting festivals and celebrations that celebrate the diversity of human life. The artistic lifestyle that is prominent throughout the country creates one of the largest tourist attractions in the world.

One of the main tourist attractions in Bali are the temples. Bali has nine main directional temples, built to protect the island by warding off evil spirits. Besakih is the mother temple, and is by the far the most important. It sits high atop Mount Agung. Most of the other temples are nestled on the water’s edge and in high rugged terrain. Be sure to buy or rent a sarong and sash as you may only visit the temples when you are dressed in traditional garb.

The beaches of Bali are some of the most beautiful places on earth. With black sand created by the volcanic activity on the island the beaches offer a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The coasts offer great opportunities for scuba diving, surfing, white-water rafting, fishing and swimming. Tourists are warned to obey the signs regarding the ocean currents, and only to swim in the designated areas because of the strong rip tides.

Once you’ve had your fill of the beaches, be sure to check out the beautiful inland landscape. The fertile green hills and dramatic terraces where the rice paddies grow around central and eastern Bali showcase the beauty of the country.

Regardless of where you are in the country, you are sure to see the volcanoes of the island looming in the distance. Mount Agung has remained dormant since 1963, displaying its magnificence in the distance. Mount Batur is by far the most accessible active volcano. Hiking up this volcano you might be lucky enough to view a plume of volcanic ash erupt from the volcano as it smoulders permanently.

Once you have finished your tour of the beautiful countryside, be sure to nourish your body and mind with a dip in the healing hot springs, a spa treatment unlike anywhere else in the world, and enjoy a yoga experience.  Be sure to treat yourself to a milk bath, a massage, and a great yoga routine.

Bali is the ultimate tourist destination. With many volcanic sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, rolling landscapes as well as a strong base for spa treatments, yoga and meditation practitioners, and tours through some of the sacred temples of the island. Enjoy the beauty and serenity of the island.
